In today’s Douglas haul I have some make up items, as well as skincare products. I must admit that most of the things I’ve got are not necesseties in my collection. I kind of gave in with certain purchases from this haul and I’m disappointed that I didn’t stick to the rules I’m trying to set for myself.
But it’s a lesson that I have to learn. With some of those things I could have waited a bit longer, till I actually finish products they’re meant to replace. But I didn’t and they are already here.
NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Clear Brow Gel
€7.75 for 9 g
In my last Douglas haul I said I was still looking for clear eyebrow gel. I decided to try out this NYX Professional Makeup Clear Brow Gel to see how I liked my brows set with such product and how it interacts with my brow pencil I’m currently using.
NYX Professional Makeup Dewy Finish Fixing Spray
€24 for 180 ml
I still have a face mist that I use to set my make up with but I’m 2/3 in, so I decided to look for a replacement. I really didn’t expect to buy a new one this early but Douglas had 25% off sale 😒 One part of my monkey brain is excited because SAAAVINGS (I had it sitting in my wishlist). But I feel like I didn’t have to purchase this setting spray just yet.
I like the mister on this setting spray and I hope that it will work well for me.
NYX Professional Makeup Warm Neutrals Ultimate Eyeshadow Pallete
€19.33 for 13.3 g/16 eyeshadows
Do I need this NYX Professional Makeup Warm Neutrals Ultimate eyeshadow pallete? No. I’m still trying to go through my other 2 eyeshadow pallets and some single eyeshadows. There’s update on my progress coming next week. For some reason it just wouldn’t leave me alone, so with 25% off on make up products I decided to get it. I’m still kicking myself for doing that but I hope that I will enjoy using it.
It is neutral eyeshadow pallete, so it is my jam. It also has more lighter shades than my current pallets, so I think that’s the reason I was so drawn to it. When I bought my previous eyeshadow pallete, it was still in the period when I used to look for darker neutral colors for my every day make up but lately I gravitate towards more ‘lightweight’ looks. Looking at this purchase from this perspective it makes more sense.
I will just have to find a way to still use older things and also make good use out of this pallete. It has perfect color scheme for simple everyday looks. I haven’t tested the formula yet but I’ve read reviews online and main take away from them I that it’s an okay pallete, some shadows you have to work on to build up. Many reviews called it ‘perfect for beginners’. I will share my thoughts on this pallete when I get some use out of it because I don’t think that swatching it on my arm will tell me much about shadows’ performance.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Face Cream
€9.95 for 100 ml
I’m actively using up my face creams and my day face cream is going to be finished soon, so I decided to try The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Face Cream. Everyone is raving about this brand and how good quality they are for their price. €9.95 is not much compared to some brands but I know some good products that are even cheaper than that. I’m curious to see how my skin likes The Ordinary. Maybe I will try some of their other skincare products in the future as well.
My first impression is that it might be THE face cream I was looking for. It’s lightweight, my skin absorbs it quickly and it doesn’t have fragrance. So I’m very happy about getting this product.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this order. I think that I picked out good products but the timing was not the best, because I’m trying to focus on things I already own in my beauty collection.
What I can take away from this haul is that I don’t need more stuff, so it is going to be my last make up and skincare haul for 2021. I won’t buy anything until I run out of something I don’t have replacement for. And I feel like it will take me some time.
