This year I’ll unbox two advent calendars and this is the first unboxing. Yves Rocher advent calendar comes with 24 products. Most of them are sample size, which is handy if you are interested in trying the brand or if you want products that are easy to travel with.
This advent calendar retails for €49.90 but I bought it for €39.90 on Yves Rocher’s website. I think that they use this tricky tactic with pricing, so you think that you are getting a discounted price but I’ve never seen it actually listed for original price of €49.90…
With price of €39.90 that I paid for it, cost of each item included in this advent calendar comes down to €1.66. It’s a pretty good deal in my opinion, especially if you are going to use every product that comes in this calendar. I know that I will 😁
So let’s see what comes inside Yves Rocher advent calendar 2021!
Day 1: Smoothing Foam Mask With Organic Chamomile
Yves Rocher Smoothing Foam Mask With Organic Chamomile is a face mask. We get 30 ml tube in advent calendar. Instructions say to leave it for 10 minutes and remove excess with cotton pad if necessary.
Day 2: Rinsing vinegar with agave fructans
I didn’t know that rinsing vinegar for hair was even a thing. Apparently it helps to remove residue from hair products and boosts shine and hair growth. I’m curious to try 👍🏻
Day 3: Hammam Body Lotion With Argan & Rose
This Yves Rocher Hammam Body Lotion With Argan & Rose smells delicious. My only concern is that it comes in a bottle, which can make it harder to squeeze out everything without opening the packaging with a knife.
Day 4: 2 in 1 Makeup Removing Micellar Water
Micellar water is always handy, especially such small 50 ml bottle is perfect for travel.
Day 5: Balm Shampoo With Reconstituting Jojoba
Yves Rocher Balm Shampoo With Reconstituting Jojoba is meant for damaged hair. It is sulfate free shampoo.
Day 6: Rouge Vertige 56 Satin Bullet Lipstick 💄
This bright red swatches nicely. It seems moisturising but the color is not my jam. Also, it wears down terribly. I may try using it along with my clear lip balm for tinted lip effect.
Day 7: Melting Orange Shower Gel
Oranges for many people mean Christmas, as back in the day it used to be a treat, so this shower gel is perfect for this season. It really does smell like orange chocolate.
Day 8: Sel d’Azur Parfume
Very nice, subtle parfume. It really reminds me of walks on the beach.
Day 9: Ultra-fresh Cleansing Gel
Day 9 brings us Yves Rocher Ultra-fresh Cleansing Gel for normal to combination skin. It’s sulfate free but unfortunately it’s not eye-safe.
Day 10: Botanical Body Scrub With Apricot Kernel Powder
I stopped using peeling cosmetics some time ago, as I use sponge to mechanically exfoliate under the shower and I don’t want to damage my skin by over-exfoliating. I will use it but I’m glad it’s only 30 ml 😁
Day 11: Elixir Botanique Repairing Antipollution Care
Yves Rocher Elixir Botanique Repairing Antipollution Care comes in 7 ml tester tube. I’m not mad at it, because I have a lot of creams and I don’t need to add up to my collection. Especially if I don’t know if I like it.
Day 12: Gourmet Blackberry Shower Gel
Short break between my soap bars for a nice shower gel is what I need. It’s nice to have something new to try and 50 ml is enough for couple times without too much commitment.
Day 13: Go Green 8 Gingembre Rouge Nail Polish
The color of this nail polish on the picture is completely off. It’s not orange in real life but pink instead… I really like it, so I’m looking forward to doing my nails with it!
Day 14: Baume Botanique Multi Purpose Repair Care
Yves Rocher Baume Botanique Multi Purpose Repair Care is one of those products which promise you to use some kind of black magic and repair damaged hair. Even though I know that it is not possible (hair is mostly dead cells and can’t regenerate), I still like a good hair product to make my hair feel soft and silky. I’m curious to see if this product delivers 🤔
Day 15: Hammam Bath & Shower Gel With Argan & Rose
Another yummy shower gel – Hammam Bath & Shower Gel With Argan & Rose. I think that Yves Rocher was reading my mind with this one.
Day 16: Black Kohl Pencil
Back in the day I couldn’t imagine doing my make up with a liner. Nowadays I don’t do it anymore. This Kohl Pencil from Yves Rocher is trying me though. After trying it out I’m actually impressed with how smooth it was on my eyelids. It also lasted for around 12 h without significant smudging.
Day 17: Gourmet Blackberry Lip Balm
Gourmet Blackberry Lip Balm is a clear lip balm. I know for sure that it will take me forever to get to use this product, as I have 2 more classic lip balms. It’s one of the products that I feel meh about receiving because I already own a back up.
Day 18: Regenerating Balm Mask With Organic Marigold
Day 18 brings us another face mask – Regenerating Balm Mask With Organic Marigold. I’m looking forward to trying it. It’s a perfect size for me to do try it couple times and not get overwhelmed with too many face masks in my collection.
Day 19: Elixir Botanique Recovery Sleeping Care (night cream)
Yves Rocher Elixir Botanique Recovery Sleeping Care is a night face cream. I have not opened it yet, as I’m using up my night face creams from my stash. I hope that it has more reach consistency than day cream. I definitely will report back after I get to use it.
Day 20: Plein Soleil Perfume
Day 20 is another Yves Rocher perfume – Plein Soleil Perfume. It is a perfect travel size that I can bring everywhere with me. I like to switch up my perfumes from time to time, so it is nice to have some variety.
Day 21: Extraordinary Shea Repair Body Lotion
Extraordinary Shea Repair Body Lotion is meant for extra dry skin. I love body lotions and I have plenty in my stash (number is going down though, due to my no buy). It’s a nice sample size addition to my collection. I can either travel with it or take it to sauna, instead of full size moisturizer.
Day 22: 2 in 1 Balm Hair Mask
This year I had some mixed feelings about hair masks and conditioners. I was still using up hair products in my stash but I think I have to downsize the number of this kind of product. I had many days this year when I felt like using conditioner/hair mask would be too much for my hair. I’m still curious to see how my hair reacts to this 2 in 1 mask from Yves Rocher.
Day 23: Melting Orange Hand Cream
Melting Orange Hand Cream suits this time of the year perfectly. I have periods of using hand cream everyday and then periods of skipping it entirely. 30 ml is a perfect size for my habits 👍🏻
Day 24: Mascara Intense Métamorphose
Last but not least, day 24 brings us Yves Rocher Mascara Intense Métamorphose. It’s a full size mascara. It’s nice that we’ve got a full size product in day 24. I’m not sure how I feel about another mascara entering my collection, especially because I’ve never tried any mascara from Yves Rocher. If it’s any good, then it was a good and safe option to put it in advent calendar, so it suits most of the people 😁
Overall, I’m pretty happy with contents of Yves Rocher advent calendar. This year I did some digging into advent calendars because I wanted to get one (I ended up getting two – unboxing of Rituals 2D will come in December) but I didn’t want to get random things that I wouldn’t use. Skincare and very basic make up products are my jam. Cost of this advent calendar was also doable for me – €1.66 per item is a steal. Most advent calendars I’ve seen this year were much more expensive and I really wasn’t sure if I would use most of the products included in them.
Reviews of products included in this Yves Rocher advent calendar will be coming soon in my empties posts, as I will be able to tell more about the products after I use them up. Stay tuned for more 😉
